You can Download Thor Flash Utility GUI for Linux (all versions) from here. The Thor Flash Utility GUI is a graphical user interface (GUI) for the Thor Flash Utility, a popular tool for flashing firmware on Samsung devices. Unlike Odin, another common flashing tool, Thor offers Linux compatibility in addition to Windows.
Here's a breakdown of what you need to know about the Thor Flash Utility GUI:
Key Features:
- User-friendly GUI: Makes flashing firmware much easier compared to command-line tools like the original Thor Utility.
- Linux compatibility: Supports Linux alongside Windows, expanding its usability.
- Multiple partition selection: Flash specific partitions instead of the entire firmware image.
- Verification option: Provides reassurance before flashing by verifying the selected files.
- Alpha stage development: Currently, not all features of the Thor Utility are implemented in the GUI, and some bugs may exist.
Getting Started:
- Requirements: Ensure you have Python 3 and Tkinter installed.
- Download: Grab the latest version of the Thor GUI from the GitHub repository: https://github.com/ethical-haquer/Thor_GUI
- Installation: Extract the downloaded file and run the
python3 PATH/TO/thor-gui.py
script. - Usage: Connect your Samsung device, select the firmware files and partitions, and initiate the flashing process.
Important Cautions:
- Flashing firmware incorrectly can potentially damage your device. Proceed with caution and ensure you have chosen the correct firmware for your specific model.
- The Thor GUI is still under development. Be aware of potential bugs and missing features as outlined in the GitHub repository.
- Always back up your important data before performing any flashing procedures.
