The Realme C12 weighs around 209g and is quite a chunky phone. There's a ‘trapezium gradient' design on the back which looks nice and doesn't attract a lot of fingerprints. The Realme C12 is said to have a fire-resistant back cover and is also splash resistant. The Realme C12 has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen, with a resolution of 1600x720 pixels and an unspecified version of Corning's Gorilla Glass. The colours looked decent to me, but the quality of the panel is pretty average.

Realme has used the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC in the C12, which is not the most powerful processor in this price segment. The Realme C12 is only available in one configuration, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage priced at Rs. 8,999. Games ran decently, as long as I stuck to simple titles or lowered the graphics quality. The main selling point here is the large 6,000mAh battery. Battery life is excellent, but the C12 doesn't support fast charging. 

The C12 has a 2-megapixel monochrome camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera, in addition to the main 13-megapixel primary camera. There's a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Image quality was strictly average when shooting during the day and quite poor in low light.

Advantages of root

• Rooting breaks apps out of Android’s normal security sandbox. Apps could abuse root privileges you’ve granted and snoop on other apps, something which isn’t normally possible. In fact, Google prevents you from using Android Pay on rooted devices for this reason.
• Some manufacturers assert that rooting voids your device’s warranty. However, rooting will not actually damage your hardware. In many cases, you can “unroot” your device and manufacturers won’t be able to tell if it’s been rooted.
• As usual, you do this at your own risk. Rooting should generally be a very safe process, but you’re on your own here. If you mess something up, you can’t just expect free warranty service to fix it. If you’re worried, do a bit of research first and see if other people report success rooting your device with the tool you’re planning on using.

• Make sure to install MTK drivers if you do not have them installed.

How to install TWRP

To install TWRP on your  Realme C12, you will have to first unlock the bootloader. And the flashing process will take place via fastboot mode.

USB Debugging needs to be enabled on your Android. 

Enabling USB debugging

• Go to settings and then click on About phone.
• Next, in phone information, look for build number and hit on it until you get the message "You are now a developer"
• Head back to the settings menu and locate "Developer options"
• Open the developer options and toggle on the dev options.
• Also, toggle on OEM unlocking.
• Next, head down and enable USB debugging. Confirm and then connect your phone to the computer? Where you are prompted to grant permission, confirm it.

Flashing TWRP 

• Download & extract ADB Minimal Tool
• Download and Extract recovery.img  In Platform-tools (ADB Minimal Tool) Folder.
• Reboot Phone to bootloader by together holding Volume Down and Power Button
• Connect Phone to PC using the usb cable.
• open CMD in the Platform tools Folder and Send run the following code to check if the device is connected.

fastboot devices

• Next, unlock the bootloader using the following code

fastboot flashing unlock

• And now to flash the TWRP, send the code below and hit enter

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

• Now, flash the vbmeta to disable boot verification

fastboot format userdata
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img

Rooting your  Realme C12

After you've successfully installed TWRP, it is time to root your device. You can either root using Magisk or SuperSU. Rooting this device with either SuperSU or Magisk will require you also install the No verity opt Encrypt zip after flashing either Magisk zip to root.

• Download and transfer the Magisk and the No verity Opt Encrypt zip files to your internal storage or SD Card. 
• Reboot your phone into twrp recovery.
• Now, click on the Install button in the TWRP recovery.

• Navigate to your internal storage or SD Card and locate the Magisk zip.

• Tap on it and swipe to install.

• Wait for the installation to complete.

• After successful installation of Magisk, go through the same steps and install the No verity Opt Encrypt.
• Next, reboot your device. Download and install Magisk Manager to manage root access.
